Description

While I was working on Making Salt, I was again inspired from Daniel Boone’s biography to create this piece. This is a portrait of an Indian who was traveling along “The Warriors’ Path,” the long trail on which bands of warriors would travel to far away places to raid and pillage enemy tribes. After these raids, they would bring back bounty and captives to enrich their tribe. This was the culture. Here I depict the warrior traveling at night to avoid detection as he and his companions edge closer to their destination. This piece was an opportunity to explore the subject through the lens of Cubist principles.
