Wild Ride

Description

Like many youngsters growing up, I loved western movies and the whole romance or myth of the west. I love taking my artistic sensibilities and applying them to the western subject. In Wild Ride, I wanted to portray the action of a cowboy trying to break a wild horse. The modernist approach allows me to create and not just imitate. The elements of art are manipulated to capture the dynamic qualities that the subject dictates, and they are also independently interesting beyond the subject. The title, Wild Ride, comes not only from the subject but also from the Bernard Hermann film score for my favorite Alfred Hitchcock movie, North By Northwest, which I was listening to at the time. It seemed appropriate.
